To preserve and pass
along a Heritage which began

Living
TheVision
can
sometimes become nothing more than a
buzzword. However, at "The
River"
we are very excited about the vision that was cast for us
over sixty years ago when a small group of people planted a little
seed church in a tent on the banks of the Elk River. Now, we find
ourselves continuing to build on the Godly Heritage that small band
of charter members prayed, worked and sacrificed for. To help us to
continue to
Live
The Vision
we need to Share The Vision for Elk River Nazarene Church, which
involves each of us.
It is a fresh
new vision and it is our opportunity for us to decide what we are
going to do with it. We now must decide how we will:
-
Leave a
legacy for our children and youth.
-
Make a
difference in our families and those in our communities.
-
Do
something significant that will outlast our lifetime!
-
Preserve
and pass along the Heritage that has been given to us
Our vision is
that “We seek to be a church of excitement and celebrative worship
that the people of greater Charleston want to attend; not just
because we offer heart-felt ministry, excellent programs, and the
opportunity to develop healthy Christian relationships, but because
the real presence of Christ is evident.”
We believe
that God desires to do much more than we can ask or imagine! The
work that began in 1943 with a “God-given” passion for souls is not
an aging old church just waiting to die! We are still a vibrant
alive intergenerational church, seeking to serve God in our
community with excellent programs and living in expectation of what
the power of Jesus Christ can do in the lives of people. This one
thing we know that God is the same yesterday, today and forever!
Amen!
We ask that
you begin to pray and partner with the leadership of The River! We
are seeking the Lord’s will as it relates to our ministries and
properties. We desire to see the Mountain moved, literally, which
would allow us to better utilize the grounds around us. A strong
Vision for a Family Life center has been cast and shared with all of
us. Our desire is to be found... |
