Men's Ministry @
"The River" is dedicated to providing men with opportunities for
spiritual growth and Christian fellowship with events, which they
can introduce, their friends to the church.
Ways to connect:
Bible
Studies –
Our men meet from time to time for
Bible studies and discussions relevant to what is going on in their
lives. When a session is not underway we join the Wednesday Night
Sanctuary Group and participate in their Bible study. One of our
most recent studies involved the reading and discussion of The
Purpose Driven Life.
Smoke
on The River - Wild Game Dinner
–
From wild game to chili, no man can
resist this event. Our annual wild game dinner is a huge hit. Now,
we have added a local chili cook off to add some additional spice to our time
together. Three lucky cooks will walk away with brag’in rights of
the best chili at The River. Guest speakers never disappoint those
who attend.
Men’s
Breakfast –
Every six weeks, on Saturday
morning we gather for breakfast at one of the local breakfast spots
in the valley to catch up on the latest in each others lives and to
hear from the Word. Sometimes we even take a quick trip or visit
one of the local home improvement stores to pick up a new tip or
two.
The
Muddin Club and ATV Day –
Yep, we go muddin at ERNC. If you
have an ATV then you will want to pay attention to this. When the
mode hits and the weather co-operates a group of people get together
for some fun on the trails. We sponsor an ATV Sunday where we bring the ATV’s to church and then go for a ride after the
morning worship time. What could be better than coming to church to
worship and then hitting the trails to see the wonders of God in his
creation.
Golf
Tournament –
Every man’s group has golfers and
that is a fact! So, on WV DAY we have our annual men’s golf outing.
Even if you are a hacker, you can still look good with these guys.
Fish Fry -
This event is one of a kind. We
make our way to the Poca River Hunting Club for our annual fish
fry. If you like to fish, hit the firing range or just hang out
then this is the event. We continue to be blessed with special
guest speakers who always seem to know what to say when they share
from the Word.
Fantasy
Football –
Just for fun and the opportunity to
see who really is the best armchair quarterback, our men
participate in a Fun Fantasy Football league. From a live draft to
weekly computer standings, they strive to end the season on top.
Although a fun league, these guys take their game seriously.
